LEARN TO INSTALL METAL ROOFING

Okay to get started with installing your metal roof, first off, get rid of the old roof make sure to remove everything including the nails, make use of a pitchfork or shovel then clear out the whole area with a broomstick. Next step is to roll out the roof felt over the entire surface and make sure that each sheet overlap the other by a few inches and also leave about 3 inches hanging over the edge.



In the next step draw chalk lines over the felt going from the crown of the roof to the gutter at two feet intervals from one another. This step is the most crucial, now it’s time to attach the sheets, cut the length of the metal roofing from the crown to the edge of the roof. Now lay down the sheet on the wood frame and screw every two feet, repeat this procedure on either side of the roof. In the penultimate step, apply a rubber strip on the place where one sheet overlaps the other to plug the gap. And lastly, install the metal edging along the roof’s perimeter and fasten the metal cap on the crown of the roof.
