HOW TO PAINT CEILING TILES

The ceiling of your house is a very important aspect of the interior decor of your house. The ceiling can do wonders to the house’s look and appearance if done properly. Ceiling tiles are now used quite popularly for designing the ceiling of rooms or even the entire house. But these ceiling tiles require maintenance time to time to ensure that the original color stays intact and the tiles look clean. Painting the ceiling tiles is not difficult and you can do it to ensure that the original color is maintained or if you wish to change the color as mentioned before. But it is important to keep in mind that ceiling tiles are quite fragile and extreme care needs to be taken while dealing with them.

But before you get all ready to paint your ceiling tiles, you need to prepare the following items namely, latex primer, paint, paint tray, foam roller, bleach, spray bottle, water, rags, and newspaper. A major hurdle and your primary goal will be to make the paint stick to the surface. Tiles, like glass have a smooth surface and since no paint comes with a formulation to stick to smooth surfaces, you will have to use a solution call bonding primer which is thicker than paint and helps the paint to stick to the surface. You will be required to apply the primer before the paint.

Now before painting the tiles clean the tiles with soap and warm water and then rinse. The next step will be to prepare a mild bleach solution using bleach and water and spray this on the tiles and clean the solution from the surface of the tile with rags. Now since the dirt has been totally removed you can start painting, remember to move the brush in one direction. It will be better to use paint sprays for better texture and smoothness.
