DIFFERENT STYLES OF WOODEN DOORS

One thing without which every property is incomplete is the doors. Doors of the house are probably one of the most essential furniture that no one can afford not to have. Doors protect our house, they help in creating our own private space inside the house, and they help in making the house look good from the exterior and in the interior as well. Well, generally doors are of two types – exterior and interior. Most often people prefer the traditional wooden doors both for the exterior doors and interior doors. Wood is a familiar material, one which is strong, durable and long lasting with good care.

The doors are made of many different varieties of wood from solid wood to veneers or a combination of the two. The usually species of wood used in making a wooden doors include mahogany, pine, oak, maple, birch and many others. Which type of species of wood is used is based on the region where you live and the availability of the species of wood in that region. The doors can be further classified into hollow core or a solid core. A hollowed core implies the use of a series of cardboard strips in them to make them strong whereas a solid core door can be a solid piece of wood or veneer over a pressed product.

The style of wooden doors largely depends on your taste and preference, as wooden doors can be easily custom made but there are still some standard designs which one can consult before purchasing a wooden door for your house. The doors can be flat paneled or raised paneled with many options within them; there are flush wooden doors also with smooth exterior finishing. Paneled doors can have a certain number of divisions on their body there can be a 2, 3, 4 or 6 paneled door, these panels can then be routered, raised, squared or flat.
