WOODEN CEILING DESIGNS FOR HOMES

For homeowners designing their home is the biggest task and one that takes a lot of time and effort on their part as they want each and every corner of their house to be just perfect according to their taste. A house must look beautiful always as it is the place where the family stays most of the time and it will not be good if you have to look at dull walls and ceilings. If you have a dull ceiling that is dampening the atmosphere of your house and not at all matching your interiors you might consider getting it remodeled with wooden ceilings.

Wooden ceiling is a form of ceiling design which has caught the home designing world by storm, it is an excellent and inexpensive way of getting a new and brilliant look for your home or room as it provides a lot of advantages both in terms of material and design. Wooden ceiling is very advantageous as it is cost effective, long lasting, highly durable and takes a lot of wear. The use of wooden ceiling also saves you the additional cost of providing heating during winters and helps in hiding all those bad stuff on your ceiling such as hanging wiring or damp portions on the ceiling due to leakage.

The most widely used wooden ceiling design  is the coffered ceiling which uses wooden beams in a criss-cross pattern, fit for cathedral or vaulted ceiling. If you have a rectangular room than you can use wooden bead boards or planks running them in shorter directions which give the room a squarer look. You can also go for a full cover of your ceiling with timber boards and finish them with different color patterns and textures which give a very modern look. Another very commonly used wooden ceiling design is the false ceiling which is very advantageous for giving a contemporary feel to the room with the additional advantage of sound absorbing features.
