WALL COVERINGS


Walls have always been the most decorated of the areas in the house, they have for centuries been the place which the rich and the not so rich used to make their house look aesthetically appealing and show off their social status. For any house its walls have the maximum impact on the minds of people who come to visit it and thus require the maximum attention. One of the most traditional ways of decorating this most important of all places in a house or office is through wall coverings, they have been used since the Chinese first discovered paper in the late 200 B.C and are still one of the most popular choices when it comes to giving that perfect, elegance filled look to the walls.

Wall coverings have a long history, they were first put to use by the Chinese who used rice paper in their walls and then painted them with drawings of birds, trees, religious characters and nature. It found its way to Europe when in the start of the 15th century European elites started using tapestry to keep their houses warm, good looking and protect the walls from damping. Since then wall coverings have a come a long way in provided endless beauty to every home that has used it, it can provide a home the look its owners seek with little efforts.

Though it went out of fashion post the World War II, recently it has gained popularity due to inventions of new techniques to make it more durable and long lasting. The choices in patterns, colors and other features have greatly improved making it one of the sought after materials when it comes to wall designing by interior decorators. Wall covering have the ability to transform the look of a house to something very beautiful, elegant and appealing that too at very affordable costs.
