The use of green products has increased in the recent years. People have started realizing the importance of green products for health benefit as well as for environmental safety. Still, the green interior design has a long way to way in terms of reaching the masses. The purpose of green products is not only to provide a stylish and ethnic look to your office décor but its main concern is to provide environmental friendly décor.
The first step in the green office interior is to improve the insulation that helps in reducing cooling and heating bills. For an environmental friendly office it is a good idea to install programmable thermostats, energy saving power strips, compact fluorescent light bulbs and energy efficient office appliances. Another area for making a green interior is water conservation. Also, the carbon emissions should be reduced in order to save the environment from pollution. “Green” electricity should be purchased that keeps a check on electricity consumed. The prime issues that is found in any office or building interior is the volatile organic compounds. In order to avoid this office interior products, flooring and furniture should be checked for their VOC content and in case it is found in large quantity the products should be replaced with better alternatives.
