Styles and Designs of Interior Ceilings and Floor Boarding

There are all kinds of ceiling designs used in homes across the world and though interior ceilings can be left as a boring, large, flat surface, designers and architects strive to make homes distinctive, and to a creative designer, a ceiling is an opportunity to create a unique and attractive home element. Numerous ceiling designs have evolved over the years, and in addition to their distinctive appearances, each has its own pattern and styles. Though conventional ceiling is the standard plain one, false ceilings or suspended ceiling is a flat ceiling built underneath an existing ceiling with a metal grid work suspended from the existing ceiling and are great at hiding old ceilings, wiring, plumbing or mechanical fixtures.

Cathedral ceilings provide a dramatic design element as well as an open and spacious feel to a room or a home entrance and are a sloping ceiling that is attached directly to the roof trusses and rises all the way to the top of the house. On the other hand, Floor boarding come in many different types, styles and designs and wood is the most popular choice because it is elastic and flexible, which makes it useful for flooring.
